Game 2 world series 2024
Additionally, this World Series was contested between the two eventual winners of the most valuable player (MVP) awards in their respective leagues: Aaron Judge of the Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers. https://brand-relations.com/demystifying-composite-images-definition-and-creation-process/ This was the first World Series since 2012 (when Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants faced Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers) to feature the two league MVPs from that season. Judge won the American League (AL) MVP Award in 2022, while Ohtani won two AL MVP awards unanimously with the Los Angeles Angels in 2021 and 2023. During the 2024 regular season, Judge hit 58 home runs while Ohtani hit 54 during his 50–50 season, meaning that this is the first time in Major League Baseball history that two batters who hit 50 home runs in the same regular season are playing against each other in the World Series. Because of the renewal of the rivalry between the two storied franchises, and the World Series debuts of both Ohtani and Judge, many regarded the matchup as a “dream” World Series in the lead-up to the event.
Their shortcomings finally caught up with them in Game 5. A total meltdown of a fifth inning, one that will be remembered as one of the worst in World Series history, cost the Yankees their season. Aaron Judge flubbed a routine fly out for his first error of the entire year — regular season or postseason. Anthony Volpe couldn’t make an accurate throw to third base. Gerrit Cole didn’t cover first base on what would’ve been an inning-ending groundout, opening the floodgates. From there, the Dodgers scored five runs to tie the game. The Yankees retook the lead even after all of this — but fumbled it away again in the eighth inning.
The Dodgers held a parade from Los Angeles City Hall to L.A. Central Public Library along Grand Avenue followed by a celebration at Dodger Stadium on November 1, 2024, the birthday of former Dodgers star pitcher Fernando Valenzuela. Despite honoring the Dodgers as the 2024 World Series champions, fan tributes to Valenzuela were also considered to be a highlight of the November 1 celebrations.

“I feel great, I feel great,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “It’s about the guys that you have available. They’re all rested. So we have guys that can do up/down. So where we’re at , knowing there’s an off-day , we’re in a great spot with leverage relievers.”
“That big hit, we’ve been looking for it,” Verdugo said. “It happened and it just felt like a big exhale in the dugout, and everybody could play free and easy again and just worry about adding on and keeping the lead.”
To that point, Volpe was 1-for-12 with two walks and seven strikeouts in the World Series, regressing from his strong start to the playoffs. After slashing .243/.293/.657 during the regular season, the second-year shortstop batted .310 with an .804 OPS through the American League Championship Series. He was swinging harder than he did during the regular season and walking more — eight walks in 37 plate appearances. He attributed the improvement to his work during the Yankees’ four off days between the regular season and the start of the AL Division Series.
That’s how it remained until Wells sent a Landon Knack fastball over the right-field wall for a sixth-inning solo shot. And in the eighth, against Brent Honeywell, the Yankees got a lot more insurance when, with two runners in scoring position, Verdugo grounded to second, where Gavin Lux’s throw home was not in time to retire the streaking, sliding Volpe. Torres then stepped up and smacked a three-run shot to right-center, and, after a Juan Soto double, the slumping Judge got the lift he needed when he lined an RBI single to left.
• Along with Will Smith’s in the fifth, this was the fifth World Series game with homers from multiple catchers. The others were 2019 Game 2 (Kurt Suzuki, Martín Maldonado), 1977 Game 5 (Steve Yeager, Thurman Munson), 1975 Game 3 (Carlton Fisk, Johnny Bench) and 1948 Game 5 (Jim Hegan, Bill Salkeld).

The original 2007 title was a critical and commercial success, as a first-person shooter survival game taking place in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. It was lauded for its evocative setting, non-linear storytelling and exciting gameplay.
In December 2014, 3 years after their closure, GSC reopened and announced a new game in development. They have since then made Cossacks 3, a sequel to their other main long-running series and have also restarted development on STALKER 2, now named S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. (with the subtext at one point reading “Heart of Chernobyl” but changed to “Heart of Chornobyl” to reflect Ukrainian pronunciation following the invasion of Ukraine)
wrong. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is different than Stalker in the rights of copyright law, plus the game was never actually based in the same world as the movie (which is also fantastic however! y’all should watch it). The rights are with someone who left the company as far as I know. which isn’t much
No matter how good a MMOFPS could or might be, it’s not going to be that experience for me, because I have no interest in constantly having other players with names like “MahBallzak289” running past and/or trying to kill me for points while I’m trying to accomplish goals in the game.
I can appreciate that this game might be good for people looking for that experience, but part of the appeal for me when it came to playing STALKER was the feeling of isolation moving between points in the world, only occasionally coming across other people for missions or combat.
