Ding Liren had started game 4 with a unique combination of opening moves after starting with the Zukertort Opening, catching his young opponent Gukesh a bit off guard at the start of the game. But after 11 moves, Gukesh was already 13 minutes ahead on the clock compared to Ding Liren.

Buehler returned from Tommy John surgery in May and had a 5.38 ERA in the regular season. He allowed six runs in the second inning of his first playoff start, and everything suggested that he was a diminished version of a once-great Dodgers starter. But Buehler looked like his old self in Game 3, and he’s now pitched 12 consecutive scoreless innings this postseason. He doesn’t have his former velocity, but he’s remained aggressive and found ways to beat some of the game’s best hitters.

As gamers we want to believe that every game succeeds or fails purely on its merits as a game, but the reality is many other factors play into which games survive and thrive. Yes, I do think that issues like TSW‘s poor tutorials and unpopular AEGIS system contributed to its downfall, but I don’t think they were root causes.
